The GLS Community would like to send our deepest condolences to the family of Keith Knight. Keith will be missed by the GLS league. He has been a GLS coach in the fall hockey league since the beginning of the league. His leadership will be missed by everyone in the hockey community.

Fall Hockey League

Great Lakes Selects (GLS) was a new fall hockey league for High School hockey players in 2019. Some of the successes of the inaugural season are:

2 try-outs held in 2019 (June and August) to select a total of 72 players from 16 different High Schools to make 4 teams.
13 league games on Saturdays and Sundays at SCS Civic Arena or University Liggett McCann
18 players selected as a GLS All Star team and attend 2 fall tournaments;
- Detroit Motown Classic U18 AAA: 1st Place Champion
- Elite Brigade - Veterans Cup U18: 1st Place Champion
- Ranked #1 myhockeyranking.com 2019-20 USA Midget 18U Tier 2 in Michigan. https://myhockeyrankings.com/rank.php?s=MI&y=2019&a=4&v=128

ACHA D2, D3, NAHL, and USPHL scouts attended many games.
Current Michigan High School coaches were on the bench
Cost per player was $450

Fall 2021 Great Lakes Selects (GLS) will be open to high school aged players who will be playing hockey for their high school during the 2021-2022 season. Information will be sent out in March for 2022 Tryouts.
